Counseling

School counseling at Brian and Teri Cram Middle School takes a comprehensive development approach, meaning that counselors focus on students' growth, maturity, and developmental stages to address students' needs academically, personally, vocationally, and socially. Counselors seek to focus on students' strengths and abilities to help them overcome challenges and become the best they can be.

Services in the counseling center begin with registration and appropriate placement of students in classes and continue with tracking of student progress in academic, personal, and career domains, with an emphasis on preparing them for effective transition to high school. Counselors provide student services for a broad range of student needs through activities such as individual and group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, parent conferences, teacher/staff consultation, peer mediation, student assessment and evaluation, homeless advocacy, and referral to outside community resources.
